Medicare Made Simple

What Is Medicare?

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people age 65 and older, and for certain younger individuals with disabilities. While Medicare provides essential coverage, it can feel overwhelming — with multiple “parts,” enrollment periods, and plan choices to consider.

At Arcuri & Associates Assurance Agency, our mission is to simplify Medicare through face-to-face education, ongoing personal support, and clear guidance before, during, and after enrollment.

The Four Parts of Medicare

Medicare is made up of several parts, each covering different types of care:

Part A: Hospital Insurance

Helps cover inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care.

Part B: Medical Insurance

Helps cover doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment.

Part C: Medicare Advantage Plans

An alternative to Original Medicare, offered by private insurers, that combines Part A and Part B, and usually includes Part D plus extra benefits like dental, vision, and hearing.

Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage

Helps cover the cost of prescription medications. Can be added to Original Medicare or included with a Medicare Advantage plan.

Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap)

In addition to Parts A–D, you may also want a Medicare Supplement Plan (Medigap). These plans help pay the out-of-pocket costs (like copays, coinsurance, and deductibles) that Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
